Dear Parent/Carer,

During the month of March, the school will be changing the way we deliver and receive
messages to and from parents/carers.
March will provide us all with an opportunity to transition gradually and smoothly from our
existing method of communication to MyChildAtSchool (MCAS).
The most important change will be the use of the MCAS app. All parents/carers will be required
to download the app, as soon as possible, to ensure all important messages from school are
received promptly through a single communication portal.
MCAS will provide parents/carers with a direct line of communication with Rhosnesni High
School and will eventually offer access to attendance data, behaviour reports, assessment
information and other important documents. Over a short period of time, student timetables,
alongside the school calendar and full access to examination timetables, will become
available. This means school will be able to keep parents/carers fully informed using a simple
and accessible app.
Parents/carers will be able to report student absence via the MCAS app, as well as via the
usual telephone route (01978 340947) and by email:
As the process is fully GDPR compliant, parents/carers are required to set up their secure
account and, when downloading the app, can add further security including biometric
authentication and a PIN.
MyChildAtSchool will offer parents/carers a one stop facility to all matters pertaining to their
child’s educational journey at Rhosnesni High School. The app’s features and benefits are
listed below.
Why MyChildAtSchool?
• MyChildAtSchool.com enables parents to access their child’s information through a
portal, either browser or app, promoting communication between both school and
parents.
• All the data is in real time so a parent can instantly see whether his/her child is in
school now.
• Any potential truancy problems, child missing from school can be detected early and
prevented.
• Comprehensive communication between parents and schools about their child(ren).
• An excellent means for schools to communicate useful information to parents, such as
upcoming school events or important documents.
• Parents can update their personal contact details online so that the school always has
their most up to date information.
• Fully GDPR compliant and secure.
We hope that the use of the MCAS app will help to develop and improve home school
communication. Evidence suggests that when school and home are working together,
students have a greater chance of success. We hope this app will give you an insight into your
child’s day at school and how well they are progressing.
This week, you will receive an invite from Mrs Kate Roberts, via email, to register for the My
ChildAtSchool app, which is free to download and use on mobile devices. Additionally, once
registered via the invite, you can then sign in on a PC via the link below:

please contact Mrs Kate Roberts via email: attendance@rhosnesni-high.wrexham.sch.uk or
