Dear Parent/Carer,
I hope you are keeping well.
This is to update you related to the organisation of the PE Department and PE lessons going forward this term.  The Sports Hall, Gym and changing areas are being used for GCSE examinations and will be out of action until the end of June.  This will require the following actions from your son/daughter over the next few weeks and this will start from Thursday 8th May 2025:
  • Your child will be allowed to come into school in their PE kit but only on the day(s) when PE is allocated on their timetable. When this is the case, your child will remain in their PE kit for the full day.
  • PE kit requirements are light blue RHS polo top, black shorts/tracksuit bottoms and trainers.  Shorts that are deemed to be inappropriate (too short) will not be acceptable.  Students have been informed that shorts should be just above the knee. Cargo shorts are not acceptable. Students who fail to comply  will be given spare kit which will need to be returned the next day.
  • If the weather is colder students can wear a black or dark navy jumper to participate in PE.  Sweatshirts that are branded will not be acceptable and should not be worn.
  • For their lesson students should meet under the canopies in front of the Astro pitch.
  • Coats and bags will be placed in identified classrooms on the French/Welsh corridor.
  • During wet weather students will be working in a classroom with their PE teacher.
