Worship takes place every day, as part of year groups’ weekly assembly and tutor time. The act of Collective Worship is wholly, or mainly, Christian in character, but is conducted in a manner that is sensitive to the individual faith and beliefs of all members of the school community. Collective Worship also reflects other religious traditions represented in the school and wider community.
During Tutor Time, Collective Worship is facilitated in the format of a Power Point presentation. There will be a topic for the week, which usually links to the time of year, or important awareness days. There is a single slide per day that can include quotes, excerpts of text, images, video links, prayer. Students will be given the opportunity for individual reflection, group discussion. Collective Worship slides also include that weeks’ UNCRC (United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child) right written at the bottom of the slide.
